The Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca is considered as one of the most beautiful sections of the Spanish Mediterranean coast, and it is easy reachable from Northern Europe by car on the motorways of France and Spain along the coast or by plane from Alicante or Valencia airport.
COSTA BLANCA means "the white coast", what refers less to the sand beaches than to the whiteblooming almond plantations in January and February and to the white houses, which are build along the coast. Beaches change with mightful cliff coasts and romantic bays. There - particularly in the far outback - are old villages of nearly unaffected beauty, and also the pulsating life of the international tourism.
Per year there are less than 30 rain days, and the coldest month has an alternate temperature of 15 degrees. Nevertheless in high summer temperatures over 30 degrees are very seldom. Almonds, lemons, oranges and even the sensitive cotton flower are growing here. The air is mild and dry.
Calpe
From the former, small fisher village Calpe became a popular holiday resort with international public.
The landmark of Calpe, the 332 m high rock rising up out of the sea,"Penon de Ifach", is also called "small Gibraltar". The rock is a nature park and protects a multiplicity of rare plants and birds. The summit can be achieved by a tunneled footpath. From here you can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the coastal line. On clear days you can enjoy the view to Ibiza.
Restaurants and shopping areas are around, as well as nightbars, cafes and plenty needful things for an enjoyable and pleasant stay.
Swimming in the crystal-clear sea, as well as practicing other sportive events like:

- Water ski

- Diving
- Mountaineering
- Walking
- Tennis
- Go-Kart
Each Saturday morning there is a weekly market in the old part of the town. The medical supply is guaranteed by several English-speaking physicians and an emergency hospital.
Calpe is reachable by car (motorway departure Benissa Teulada) or by airplane.
The distance to the province capital Alicante and the international airport amounts 70 km and is attainable over the motorway in approx. 40 minutes.
